Many people assume that we photograph quite a few Indian weddings a year because we love the colors at the weddings when in fact, it is because we love the interaction of people and the unpredictability of the events. Of course, beautiful colors wouldn’t hurt either! 🙂
Prashant and I met during our undergraduate days at Indiana University. He had an eye on me since chemistry class freshman year. However, I didn’t know he existed until we met through a common friend later that year. We dated while he was in dental school in Indianapolis and I was in medical school in Texas and racked up tons of frequent flyer points. Finally, we decided to tie the knot before I started residency. Here we are, eight years later, married and finally living in the same city.
The story of how Prashant and I met is a mix of romanticism, creepiness, and destiny. I’ll explain: It was during our early years at Indiana University. We were both science majors and let’s say Prashant was not as ambitious of a student as I was. It was Chemistry 101, at 8 am sharp. I was always early and sat in the front row like the nerd I was. Prashant was always late, so he had to sit above in the balcony with the rest of the cool people. Apparently, he had been “noticing” me during the few moments he was awake during class. But it wasn’t until 3 months later that we actually met. By pure coincidence (or destiny), I came to visit one of my friends who happened to live on the same dorm floor as Prashant. As I was walking in the hallway, Prashant caught a glimpse of me and walked into the room. While pretending to ask his friend for some Ramen noodles, he nonchalantly introduced himself. He mentioned we were in the same chemistry class, but I had never seen him before. Over the next few months, his charm and rugged good looks slowly won me over. And now, 8 years of loooong distance relationship later, here we are…married, forever!
Ashley Eddleman and Hazel came out to help me out and did a great job!
Here is part one of their wedding day:
