Ceremony and Reception:  Vintage Villas, Austin, Texas

A sweet young couple in love, Heidi and Justin tied their knots at Vintage Villas just over a month ago!  They had a sweet ceremony and celebrated with their tight group of friends ad family.

The veil couldn’t withstand Texas’ strong winds near the lake…

Congratulations you guys!   Have a great time in Atlanta!

Ceremony and Reception:  Vintage Villas, Austin, Texas

Natalie and Matt met each other while they were on a mission trip for  Campus Crusade for Christ  while they were in college.  Natalie went to Baylor and Matt went to Radford, a school in Virginia and they met in Africa.

Natalie is a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority (and you can see that when her sorority sisters serenaded to her in the reception!).

Everything about them is fun.  Whether it’s the location of the wedding, Vintage Villas, or the groom’s cake which reads: “Virginia is for love but God bless Texas!”   Having a Vintage Villas wedding allows them to experience spectacular light overlooking Lake Travis, a great reminder of life in central Texas.

And they did it all, without alcohol  Natalie kept saying to me: “Are you impressed how fun we are?”  Yes, we were!!

Ceremony:  University Christian Church on University of Texas’ campus

Reception;  Four Seasons Hotel

Page and Wes was married in the University Christian Church near UT campus and had their fun reception in the Four Seasons afterwards.

They met online through eHarmony after Wes received his MBA from the University of Texas and moved to Dallas.  After a few emails sharing their love for Texas, they met at Starbucks.  20 months later, Wes asked Page to marry him while treating her to dinner for earning Teacher of the Year award at her school in Dallas, TX.

Their band at the wedding was Memphis Train and they were fabulous.  The wedding planner was Barbara Hearnes at Barbara’s Brides and she did a great job!

Also, Ben Padolsky came by to help me and Hazel out, thanks Ben!

Highlight photos from their day – Page and Wes started off in the Four Seasons Hotel.

It was a fairly warm Texas day!

As always, the best moment is not the kiss, but the moments after….

Love the heart shape floor!!!  Before we left for the church, Page was selecting between champagne color and blue color – I was really happy that she chose the blue color

Page’s dad gave her probably the best gift I have ever seen a dad dod at a wedding – he sang to her (and he was GREAT!!!!!)

The guests went wild over the surprise performance from her dad.

I can’t believe she does this, ALL night, on the reception floor.  Page mentioned she does P90X exercises… i need to do that as well – it was hard keeping up!

Amira wanted to do an engagement session at their new house and then to a nearby park and wanted it to be as natural as possible.

We started off with some reading and some card games on the sofa

They’ll get married in October in Rice University in Houston, can’t wait!

Ceremony and Reception:  French Legation Museum, Austin, Texas

Enusha and Wyatt met each other and work as research scientists at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.  Enusha is from Sri Lanka, so it’s important to have a Buddhist Sri Lankan ceremony along with a Methodist ceremony as well.

From Enusha’s own words about how they have met and about what they do:

Wyatt was a graduate student in  cell & molecular biology, I was finishing up my PhD in microbiology and he actually asked me just after I defended my dissertation – it was great timing! HAH! … Right after I defended, our family planned to visit Sri Lanka for a month- it has been 5 years since our last visit, well we basically has 7 days of dating before I left. It was pretty wild b/c I knew before that my parents would want me to meet some Sri Lankan fellas as potential suitors. So while we were in Sri Lanka I was torn, after only 7-days with someone to base the rest of your life on, is pretty daunting- but I decided to stay with it, and felt like there was just something there I couldn’t walk away from. So when I came back to the U.S.- to my parents disappointment I didn’t choose a suitor, but in my heart I had…and five years later here we are!

Right now I am a research assistant professor and Wyatt is a post-doctoral fellow.  We do have a nice melding of cultures: my family are immigrants from Sri Lanka (and I am first generation American) and we are Buddhist, and I’ve grown up in Austin Texas. Wyatt comes from a traditional, conservative West Texas family with methodist upbringing. I like to call him the ‘Beav’ b/c his family is so happy and like the “leave it to Beaver” show…a blessing really!

The day started off with Wyatt getting a shave:

One of my favorite pic of the day, Enusha’s mom getting emotional as the veil is put on.  Enusha is wearing a white sari for the ceremony and will switch to a different color for the reception.

Yes!  The knot is tied, literally….

I’ll add that I always feel like the luckiest man in the world – very few people find their REAL soul mate, and I’m positive I found mine.

Ceremony: St. Ignatius Catholic Church

Reception: The Hyatt Regency Hotel, Austin, Texas

It’s interesting how couples met each other and fall in love, isn’t it?

In this case, Jeremy, who travels worldwide for his company, ended up meeting Vladimira (or Vladi) in Slovakia while he was on vacation in Europe.  In fact, he was still in Europe when I met with Jeremy’s brother, Jaysen, for his wedding celebration in Austin, Texas last year.

The wedding starts in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, just south of the river in Austin Texas – then it moves to the St. Ignatius church for the ceremony.  Afterwards, the couple decided to visit the Texas Capitol and a local Austin park for some portraits, followed by a rocking reception in the top floor of the Hyatt with some GREAT views of Austin, Texas’ cityscape at night.
