Wedding ceremony and reception: The Terrace Club in Dripping Springs, Texas

What a great day to get married in February!   After weeks of scathing cold by Texas standards, and with a freeze literally a day or two before the wedding day, the weather clears up nicely for Valerie and Alex at the Terrace Club!   The light is sooooo nice and I am glad that they decided to do a “reveal” before the ceremony so that we could use some of that light.   One of the best features of the ballroom at Terrace club is lots of available light during sunset hours as well as a nice courtyard/arbor for outdoor weddings.

Valerie and Alex met at Halloween night in 2008.  Here is what Alex wrote to me about how they met:

Valerie and I met on a chance encounter Halloween night of 2008.  I had dressed as dopey scarecrow, the dopey part was a post costume donning observation, which became even more dopey when I noticed that she had not dressed in costume to go out with my sister-in-law.  Dopey costume aside, we still went out with the group…but while that was the day that we met…it was hardly the day that we got to know each other.  Throughout the evening we didn’t get much of a chance to talk or hang out, and as such this prompted the need for another “chance meeting” to happen.  Finding time to do this was difficult, though, with my job taking me out of town Monday through Friday every week…weekends became the only opportunity to try and stage another meet up.  Working with my brother and sister-in-law (Valerie’s friends from college), we orchestrated a dinner aimed at providing Valerie and I an opportunity to spend some time with each other, as allowing me to show off a few cooking skills.  As chance should have it, that evening we did find time to get to know each other, and found within each other a friendship that prompted a reason for additional dates, additional time…and eventually, as luck should have it, it led us into Love.  Who knew that the dopey scarecrow would every land the lovely lady….

What a great story!  Dopey scarecrow part cracks me up 🙂

Love the closeness of family, and the emotions they have shown at the wedding.  In addition to that, it was one of the best rocking receptions ever!
